Silene laciniata (Indian Pink)

Perennial, 1-2'H x 1-2-W,  Sun/Partial Sun, Scarlet, Evergreen

This California native can be found growing on dry hillsides, usually in partially shaded areas.  The bright blooms appear in the spring time and can be spotted from a distance.  Indian Pink should be planting among other low growing annuals or perennials because of its sprawling habit.  It tolerates regular water and benefits from occasional pruning to keep the plant bushy.  Allow the flowers to re-seed themselves.
