Very drought tolerant, but will thrive in well drained soils and some summer water. In the wild, plants re-bloom after summer rains. In typical landscapes, this mallow will bloom for long periods of time. Extend the bloom period by cutting off the dead flower salk Will see damage when temperatures fall into the 20's.
