An evergreen, Australian native shrub or tree with a dense, bushy habit. Branches are covered in long, narrow, bright green, willow-like leaves. Blooms along the stems with long spikes of tiny, fragrant, bright yellow pom-pom flowers in late winter and early spring. Grows quickly to 15 to 20 feet tall and wide. Useful as a large screening shrub or windbreak. Plant in full sun to light shade inland and water occasionally to infrequently. Exceptionally fast growing and easy to establish and grow. Prefers well-drained, moderately fertile soil. Useful for erosion control. Tolerates seaside conditions. Do not plant near disturbed or natural areas as it has invasive tendencies.
