A Yarrow bred to be short and compact with stems that won’t fall over under the weight of its flowers. Features lacey silver-green foliage and blooms late spring through summer with flat umbels of tiny, pink/ light red flowers. Makes a great front of the bed plant in cottage gardens and perennial beds. Can take full sun but will also grow well in part sun inland. Cut back blooms throughout the season to encourage new ones. Prefers regular to occasional water once established. Tolerant of most soil types as long as they are well-draining. The naming of this selection is a bit misleading as the flower color is much more in the pink ranges rather than red. Like most Achillea used in the S. California region, material will ‘winterize’ but typically not go fully dormant.
