A variegated clumping Agave with stiff, Yucca-like foliage that tolerates shade better than most. Stiff, sword-shaped leaves are green down the middle with wide bands of creamy white along the margins. Foliage radiates out from the center of the plant and down along its short trunk to form spiky, rounded rosettes. Leaves are edged with small, reddish brown teeth and end in a sharp terminal spine. Will not bloom for at least ten years (and often longer), at which point it will produce an 8 to 10 foot tall stalk topped with green-ish white flowers. Once it has bloomed, the primary rosette will die and the plant will grow as a clump of smaller offsets. Will grow in full sun to part shade inland. Plant in well-draining soil and water occasionally to infrequently
