A hybrid of A. attenuata and A shawii featuring wide, waxy blue-green leaves with very finely serrated edges. Leaves bow out from the center of the plant before curving back inward, giving them the appearance of flames. Starts off as a single rosette when young. Once rosette grows to its maximum size of 2 to 3 feet all around, it’s replaced by a large clump of smaller rosettes that grows 4 to 5 feet wide. Prefers full sun in coastal gardens and some protection from sun inland to prevent scorching. Performs best with occasional to regular watering. Benefits include infrequent flowering and the lack of prominent spines or teeth.
