This Whale’s Tongue Agave is well-known for being solitary, meaning it does not produce offsets. The rounded rosette is graced with cupped foliage. The epithet and common name of the succulent refer to the broad yet short ovate leaves. The gray leaves have finely dentated margins. At the terminal spine, the plant becomes darker in tone. The size of the plant depends on the amount of irrigation it receives. It is recommended to plant this succulent in full sun and well-draining soil. When provided with less water (e.g., drought conditions), the plant remains small. However, when irrigation is not withheld, the plant can become quite sizable.
