A trunk-forming Aloe that grows 6 to 8 feet tall and produces 12 to 18 inch spikes of scarlet red flowers in winter, ‘Erik the Red’ is a show-stopping Aloe that’s the perfect specimen plant or focal point for a succulent garden. Single rosettes born on long stems are comprised of thick, finely toothed, light green leaves sometimes tipped with orange. Plant in full sun in well-draining soil. Needs only occasional to infrequent water once established but is also tolerant of regular watering.
