Growing up to 6 to 10 feet tall as a single, trunked rosette, Aloe marlothii features thick, fleshy, blue-green leaves dotted with sharp, reddish brown spines. Foliage color takes on more green tones and leaves lose their spines as it grows older and taller. In late fall and winter, its huge, multi-branched inflorescence blooms with horizontal flower spikes. Tubular flowers vary in color (sometimes on the same flower spike) from bright red to orange to yellow. Plant in full sun in well-drained soil. Once established, it requires infrequent to no supplemental irrigation in most areas..
