Rock Purslane is a showy flowering succulent with a delicate appearance that makes it perfect for rock gardens, cottage gardens, and containers. Forms a 2 to 3 foot wide mound of diamond-shaped, green/blue foliage arranged in small rosettes. In late spring and early summer, bright magenta flowers are held 1 to 2 feet high above the foliage on delicate, waving stems. Performs best in well-drained soil with regular to occasional water. Can take full sun exposure on the coast but appreciates some protection from hot afternoon sun inland. Generally a short-lived succulent, it may need to be replanted every 2 to 3 years.
