A large Echeveria with glossy, ruffled, red foliage. Bright red to burgundy leaves take on dark purple tones in hot, sunny conditions sometimes turning the foliage almost black. Bright green emerging leaves in the center of the rosette make for an interesting color contrast. Grows as a solitary, 14 to 16 inch wide rosette on a short trunk. Blooms in spring with spikes of dark pink, bell-shaped flowers. Plant in well-draining soil. Water occasionally and allow soil to dry out between waterings
