Apache Plume is endemic to arid habitats in the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. The shrub is both drought and heat tolerant, Tiny leaves scatter the peeling bark of thin branches. The clusters of light-colored, rose-like blooms give way to delicate, curling seed plumes. The shrub can provide excellent slope stabilization.
