A clumping, evergreen grass with metallic blue foliage that grows 8 to 12 inches tall and wide. Blooms profusely in summer with spikes of feathery flowers that age to light tan. Tolerant of poor soil as long as it is well-draining. Can take full sun on the coast but needs some protection from afternoon and evening sun during our hot inland summers. Prefers regular to occasional water. Looks and performs best when divided every two to three years. This glauca variety is bred to have a stronger blue color than Festuca ‘Elijah Blue’.
