Thought to be a hybrid of F. idahoensis and F. glauca, 'Siskiyou Blue' has the same chalky blue-green foliage as the glauca varieties but is larger and longer lived due to its idahoensis parentage. Forms compact clumps of slender, arching, evergreen foliage up to two feet tall and wide. In late spring and early summer it blooms with feathery spikes of flowers that emerge light green and age to a light wheat color. Can take full sun on the coast but needs some protection from afternoon and evening sun during our hot inland summers. Performs best in well-drained, poor to moderately fertile soil with regular water.
