A long-blooming and highly heat-tolerant shrub lavender that forms a compact, 2 to 3 foot mound of exceptionally soft grey foliage. Thought to be a cross between Lavandula dentata and Lavandula lanata, its foliage combines the small, finely-toothed shape of the former with the softness of the latter. Blooms spring through fall with long wands of rich lavender purple flowers that attract a myriad of pollinators, particularly bees. Both foliage and flowers are highly fragrant. Be sure to shear on occasion to encourage continuous blooming and prune once a year to maintain compact growth habit. Performs best in less fertile, sharply-draining soil. Water regularly to occasionally once established. Prefers full sun but will perform and bloom well in partial shade. More tolerant of humidity than other lavender varieties.
