A showy compact shrub. The plant’s foliage changes colors throughout the year. The lance-shaped leaves seasonally change from orange to red in the fall to plum in the spring. Even though the plant has a relatively short flowering period, the yellow flowers are beautifully ornate. Well-drained soil and full to parttial sun are suggested for the shrub. Once established, the plant should be able to endure drought with occasional watering. Phosphorus fertilizer should be avoided at all costs. Best with some protection from intense inland sun/heat.
