A white-flowering form of a Mimulus native to the Sierra Nevada and coastal mountain ranges. Features creamy white flowers with densely ruffled edges and pale yellow throats. A thinner and glossier leaf than many of the Southern California species. Tolerant of dry conditions and can even be planted under oaks. Prefers well-drained soil and regular to occasional water. Once established, water sparingly in summer. Like most dry Mimulus/Diplacus, this plant goes semi to fully dormant in response to summer conditions in many parts for the state. This dormancy is a natural part of its growing cycle. Some may find the appearance during this time as unsightly but attempting to force the plant into an unnatural cycle may result in mortality.
