A variety of sticky Monkeyflower native to southern California chaparral and rocky hillsides. Blooms mid spring to early summer with dark carmine red flowers with yellow-orange throats. Plant in full sun to part shade? Prefers very well-draining, even sandy or rocky soil. Can be difficult to over summer and is best planted in the fall/winter to establish. Plants will go semi-dormant to dormant in the summer and should not be overwatered in response to this natural cycle. Such over-watering usually results in mortality.
