The common name says it all – this succulent is a Spineless Prickly Pear. Although spineless, be cautious when handling the cactus as tiny, sharp groups of bristles persist on the plant. It is best to use gloves when handling. This relatively low and spreading cactus is tolerant of both extreme ends of temperature. Yellow flowers, which are loved by pollinators, emerge in summer. Fruits are edible and ornamental. Basically carefree and easy to establish.
