Grevillea

The genus Grevillea consists of more than 250 diverse evergreen hybrids and species, all of which are native to Australia. These groups of evergreen trees, shrubs and groundcovers are noted for their strikingly beautiful flowers, unique foliage and attractiveness to hummingbirds. The sea urchin- and toothbrush-shaped blooms come in showy bright colors including cream, pink, red and yellow. Species vary in growth habit from large upright shrubs to very prostrate ground covers. Only a few are grown as trees. The Grevilleas that El Nativo grows have been selected for their color, foliage and ability to thrive in Southern California’s climate.

REQUIREMENTS: The majority of Grevilleas are fast growing, prefer well-drained soil, and require low to moderate amounts of water. Most are sensitive to excess phosphorus.
