Scarlet flowers open in mid-summer and bloom over an extended period of time. Excellent in pots. There are some exceptionally nice large scale plantings where this has been used on slopes as a ground cover in Thousand Oaks.

Synonyms: Dasylirion quadrangulatum, still foliage will grow to 4-6 feet in length. Flower stalks take a number of years to form (from juvenile stage) and can reach up to 15 feet tall.
