A Purple Sage selection with a compact form that’s great for residential gardens. Grows 3 to 4 feet tall and 4 to 6 feet wide, sometimes wider in coastal conditions. Perfect for sunny banks and sloped areas. Grows best in well-drained, even rocky soil, but will tolerate clay if planted on a slope. Soft pinkish-lavender flowers bloom in spring on long inflorescences and attract hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies. Features soft, deeply textured, silver-grey foliage. This selection is more reliably evergreen than the species. Plant in full sun to light shade inland and water occasionally to infrequently.
