A striking semi-evergreen shrub that features large, lush, grey-green foliage and electric blue flowers on prominent chartreuse calyces. Flowers are attractive to hummingbirds and hold up well in fresh arrangements. Blooms late summer through fall. Deadhead flowers throughout summer and fall and prune heavily in spring to maintain form. Naturally grows 4 to 6 feet tall but is best kept shorter for tidy appearance. Plant in full sun to light shade inland in well-draining but fertile soil. Needs moderate to regular irrigation. Very easy to grow but is susceptible to aphids and scale.
