Similar to Senecio mandraliscae (both are often called by the same common name of ‘Blue Chalk Sticks’), but significantly more compact and smaller, growing just 6 to 12 inches tall and 2 to 3 feet wide. A slow-growing succulent ground cover with upright, powdery, blue-grey leaves. Useful as a filler in containers and succulent gardens where it provides a nice contrast to warmer colors. Stems will root where they touch the ground. Produces small, white disc florets in summer. Plant in full sun to light shade in well-draining soil and water occasionally to infrequently. Much slower growing than S. mandraliscae and tends to be less tolerant of varying conditions. Can struggle in full sun in the heat of the summer. Widely supplied incorrectly in the industry as S. mandraliscae.
