A small evergreen grass that grows in compact clumps of bicolored leaf blades that are bright green on one side and silvery blue on the other, creating a lovely two-toned effect. Blooms in spring with dark purple, rounded flower spikes that age to silvery green in the summer and fall. May eventually grow 12 inches tall and wide but often stays smaller. Good for use as a large or small scale groundcover or in residential gardens and perennial beds. Not particular about soil type but prefers loamy soil. It prefers light shade to part sun when grown in hot inland climates. Needs moderate to regular water inland. Very easy to grow and maintain.
