A long-blooming, heat tolerant perennial that’s perfect for adding summer color to southern California gardens. ‘Purple Haze’ is a Hummingbird Mint hybrid with an upright, erect habit that blooms early summer through fall with tall racemes of violet blue flowers that attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Diamond-shaped green foliage has a notably sweet, minty fragrance. Deadhead continually to encourage continuous blooming and cut back once a year to refresh foliage. Goes dormant to the ground over the winter. Needs sharply-draining soil and regular to moderate water. Plant in full sun to light shade inland. Deer resistant.
