A showy, compact Agave with an elegant urn shape and cupped foliage. Leaves are green-blue in the center with narrow bands of bright yellow along the margins. Foliage is mostly or entirely toothless along the edges with spines at the ends of the leaves. Fast-growing, this Agave produces offsets after a couple of years, forming a 3 to 4 foot wide clump with a large, primary rosette in the middle and multiple smaller offsets around the base. Once it reaches maturity, it blooms with an 8 to 10 foot tall stalk of yellow flowers. After flowering occurs, the primary rosette will die, but offsets can be easily propagated. Tolerates full sun and reflected heat but can be grown in part shade inland. Plant in well-draining soil and water occasionally to infrequently. The degree and intensity of variegation can vary depending on growing conditions and time of the year
