A medium-sized Agave with an open, sculptural form and strikingly large, smooth, powdery blue-grey foliage that makes it a good accent or centerpiece plant for your garden. Starts out as a single rosette but is quick to produce multiple offsets around the base. Leaves are densely toothed along the margins and have a sharp terminal spine. Once it reaches maturity, it will bloom with a 6 to 10 foot tall stalk of pale yellow flowers. After flowering, the primary rosette will die. Plant in sharply-draining soil. Tolerates full sun in coastal conditions, but inland it should be grown in light shade to part shade to prevent leaf scorching. Can tolerate more regular watering than most Agaves. Inland it should be given regular to occasional water
