A selection of Arctostaphylos insularis introduced by the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden, ‘Canyon Sparkles’ is a medium-size, rounded shrub that can be shaped into a small tree. One of the few Manzanitas that can be grown in a pot. Blooms in mid winter with clusters of white, bell-shaped flowers. Features bright green, glossy foliage and cinnamon-colored bark. Prefers fast-draining, coarse-grained soil. Can take full sun on the coast but prefers part shade to part sun inland.
