A possible selection of Carex praegracilis with leaves that are shorter and finer textured than the species. Grows in clumps of deep green foliage just 6 to 8 inches tall. Over time, it will form a mat of foliage, but it spreads much slower than the species. Useful as a small scale groundcover, in small residential gardens, or planted in between pavers. Tolerates foot traffic. Grows best in well-drained soil with regular to moderate water. Can be planted in full sun to part shade inland.
