A rare succulent native to the Channel Islands that grows in broad rosettes of flat, sword-shaped foliage. Notable for its colorful foliage, its leaves emerge from the center of the rosette a silvery grey and age to blue-green with orange tips as they’re pushed out to the edges. Forms a small clump of rosettes 6 inches tall and 12 inches wide. Blooms from spring to mid summer with stout spikes of bright yellow flowers. Naturally grows on rocky coastal cliffs and therefore performs best if planted on a small slope or raised area in your garden to allow water to drain quickly. Perfect for rock gardens, planted in rock walls, or grown in containers. Can take full sun on the coast but should be planted in light shade to part sun inland. Prefers infrequent to no supplemental irrigation once established.
