Bolander’s Rush is native to northern California and up into British Columbia where it grows in wet areas including marshes, beaches, and meadows. Grows in clumps of smooth, rounded foliage up to 3 feet tall and spreads quickly and continuously via rhizomes. Blooms in summer with rounded, spiky, brown flower clusters. Good for use in water gardens or in containers. Adaptable to different soil conditions but prefers good drainage and wet soil or standing water. Plant in full to part sun.
