A form of English Lavender notable for its small, compact growth habit. Forms a 2 foot mound of dense grey-green foliage. Blooms with compact spikes of highly fragrant, rich lavender purple flowers in late spring and early summer. A perfect addition to container plantings or grown in the front of a perennial bed where its fragrance can be enjoyed. Performs best in well-drained, moderately fertile to poor soil, including sandy or gravelly soil. Plant in full sun to part shade inland. Water regularly to occasionally once established. May go dormant over the winter, but will regrow from the ground in spring. Cut back in late winter or early spring for fuller, more compact form. Can be difficult to establish in hotter inland areas.
