A long-blooming, heat tolerant shrub lavender with striking silver foliage and distinctive flowers. Blooms mid spring through summer with stout, plum-colored flower spikes topped with deep lavender petal-like bracts that resemble butterfly wings. Flowers attract a myriad of pollinators, particularly bees. Grows 2 to 3 feet tall and wide and has a slightly open form that can be kept in check with a yearly pruning in late winter. Perfect for container plantings, mass plantings, or in perennial beds and borders. Easy to grow in sharply-draining, moderately fertile to poor soil. Plant in full sun to light shade inland. Water occasionally to infrequently once established. Deadhead frequently for continuous blooming
