A white flowering cultivar of Muhlenbergia capillaris that blooms in fall and early winter with large, airy panicles of tiny flowers, creating a cloud of creamy white that floats a foot above its foliage. Grows as a 2 to 3 foot tall and wide clump of green foliage that is more narrow and upright than the species. Striking in mass plantings and useful for adding a soft texture to residential gardens and landscapes. Low maintenance and drought tolerant, it can also be used in commercial plantings. Tolerates a wide range of soil types. Needs only occasional water once established. Prefers full sun to light shade inland. As a warm season grass, it grows vigorously during the warmer months and shuts down during the winter, during which time all or some of its foliage will brown depending on regional microclimates. Can be cut back in late winter (not hedged) or early spring for a flush of new growth or raked to remove dead foliage.
