A small, compact, perennial Salvia covered in spikes of pure white flowers in late spring and early summer. Cut back spent flowers to encourage new blooms. Features large, spear-shaped, deeply-textured foliage that is lightly fragrant. Stays quite small at just 12 to 18 inches all around. Perfect for cottage gardens and the front of perennial beds and borders. Plant in full sun to part shade inland in well-draining but moderately fertile soil. Needs moderate to regular irrigation. As a perennial Salvia, this plant dies back to the ground over the winter. All dead flowers/leaves should be cut back to the basal resprout each year before it pushes spring growth.
