A hybrid of C. salviifolius and C. populifolius, also known as Cistus x hybridus. A low, mounding form of the sturdy evergreen shrub Rockrose which tolerates poor soil, high heat, and coastal conditions. In spring, it’s covered in rose-colored buds that open to delicate, pure white flowers with bright yellow centers. Small, lightly-crinkled leaves are dark green on top and light green on the bottom. Useful for creating a low, flowering hedge in hot, dry areas. Reaches 2 to 5 feet tall and 3 to 5 feet wide, but can be kept smaller with regular pruning. Plant in full sun to light shade inland. Not particular about soil type as long as it is sharply-draining. Water infrequently to not at all once established. One of the most cold hardy Cistus varieties, it can withstand temperatures down into the teens. Deer resistant.
